A once grand stone mansion on Sydney's north shore made famous by TikTokers as a 'haunted house' has hit the market for a whopping $10million.

Located in Mosman, the 80-year-old waterside property is in an advanced state of disrepair after it was abandoned over twenty years ago.

Now heritage listed, it was originally built as a two-storey, five-bedroom, three-bathroom home, which was surrounded by splendid gardens with direct access to the harbour.

However, The Daily Telegraph reports that a development application has been approved for the site which has potential buyers in a frenzy.

The home was last sold in 2015 for $6.6million to Edward Wei, a Chinese national and architecture student who submitted the new DA for the site.

According to the report the DA has attracted 97 buyer enquiries in 24 hours.

The plans are 'sympathetic' to the original home and allow a four-storey dwelling to be constructed from the foundations of the original mansion which was built in 1939.

Features outlined in the proposal include plans for a four-bedroom home, with interior elevator.
