Georgia Steel took to her Instagram account on Friday to defend Ekin-Su Culculoglu after she was 'cancelled' by toxic online trolls following her elimination from Celebrity Big Brother.

During the episode, the former Love Island winner, 29, was loudly booed as AJ Odudu and Will Best read out the names of the nominated housemates.

Cruel trolling comments started when Ekin-Su caused controversy in the house after she appeared annoyed by Marisha Wallace's nomination.

However, Georgia, 25, who endured similar treatment after her recent appearance on Love Island: All Stars, quickly rushed to her defence on social media.

She said: 'I just wanted to come on here and show some love and support for Ekin Su. I have been on the receiving end of trolling and it's honestly not ok. It can really affect you.

'Yet trolling doesn't just affect one individual it affects families and friends. Sending hateful comments and threats is just not acceptable.

'Having an opinion and trolling is two completely different things. People cannot continue to get away with hiding behind a username, sending horrible anonymous messages without any consequences.

'Ekin is a human being with feelings. People forget that like Love Island, CBB is a reality TV show, it's entertainment. No one deserves this.

She concluded 'Remember there is power in kindness @ekinsuofficial'.

The Instagram post showing her support for Ekin-Su comes after Georgia fell victim to trolling after she appeared on Love Island All Stars in January.

And her family at the time was her defence as they defended her on social media after she was the target of vicious trolls.

It comes before Celebrity Big Brother fans claimed that Ekin-Su may have been 'cancelled' following her stint on the rebooted ITV show.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) one viewer said: 'Nikita, no you are not being cancelled. Not sure about Ekin-Su though'.

However, Georgia, 25, who is one of her fellow Love Island stars, quickly rushed to her defence on social media

While another viewer added 'Ekin-Su is getting cancelled after this'.

The 'cancelled' tweets come after Ekin-su's team issued a plea to Celebrity Big Brother viewers to stop writing abusive messages about her.

The Love Island star was criticised by fans for her 'hysterical' crying on Thursday night's episode when Marisha Wallace nominated her in face-to-face noms.

She stormed off to bed as theatre star Marisha followed her to apologise - as she raged about her reason for nominating her.

But Ekin-Su's family and friends have now asked fans to lay off criticising her, saying it was difficult for them to read 'hateful comments' and 'physical abuse threats'.

In a statement on social media, they wrote: 'Last night was a really sad episode to watch. Ekin-Su has always cared and worn her heart on her sleeve and last night we saw that.

'What made last night a thousand times harder though is seeing and listening to hateful comments, trolling, name calling and physical abuse threats. Nobody deserves this behaviour and to read some of what we did last night.
