Guy Sebastian has revealed what happened on the set of Australian Idol after Marcia Hines collapsed in her dressing room on Sunday night.
The 42-year-old singer was set to perform his new song Antidote with Sam Fischer on the show, but ended up filling in as a judge after Hines was rushed to hospital.
Sebastian revealed on Channel Seven's Sunrise on Monday, he had arrived on set to rehearse when he was asked to join the judging panel.
'We were just sound checking and when we got there, it was quite a sombre mood,' he explained.
'Marcia had to leave but from what I know she was ok. And then Kyle [Sandilands] made a joke about them getting me to fill in and I laughed.

'And literally at the same time, my manager [walked over] and said "Guy we need to speak".'
