Dylan Wright was crowned winner of Australian Idol 2024 during Monday night's nail-biting finale, beating West Australian Amy Reeves and Queenslander Denvah Baker-Moller.
The Bangalow-native was stunned by the life-changing news and almost broke down in tears.
But many fans of the Channel Seven revamp of the singing show are furious with the outcome and believe Amy should have taken home the top prize.
Several viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment with the finale results.
'Call the police! A robbery has taken place on Australian Idol. Amy has been absolutely shafted. Easily the best performer in idol history,' wrote one.
