Si King gives update on the Hairy Bikers' future in heartwarming post after ... trends now

Si King gave an update on the Hairy Bikers' future in a heartwarming new post on Wednesday - after Dave Myers' death.

The cook, 57, announced the iconic duo's Fortnum & Mason Food Personality of the Year Award nomination and asked fans to vote for them as he gave the update.

He also said that he would be keeping in touch with fans via social media on 'projects that will live on' after Dave's sad passing.

The TV chef, 66, passed away last month, two years after he revealed he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer. 

In his new post Si shared a sweet snap with Dave as they both beamed for the camera as he said it was 'really strange' not having Dave around anymore. 

He then said in the caption: 'Dave and I were so chuffed to be nominated once again for the Fortnum & Mason Food Personality of the Year Award for the 4th year running.

'Dave was so proud of this award, particularly because it's voted for by our loyal followers and fans, the people who matter most to us.

'It's really strange for us all not to have Dave around but for now, we will keep posting on the Hairy Bikers socials to keep in touch with all those people who have been so kind over many years and particularly in recent weeks. 

'We'll also keep you updated on the events and projects which will live on and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at some of the Summer festivals this year. Si x Vote for us using the link on our stories.'

It comes after last week The Hairy Bikers team issued an 'urgent' warning to fans over scam fundraising pages impersonating Si and urging donations to cancer charities after the death of Dave.

Si has been left distraught by the death of his co-star, and now scammers are using his name and asking for donations for Dave's family.

A post on the Hairy Bikers official Facebook page read: 'Many of you have been emailing us pointing out that fake profiles are appearing on Facebook and Instagram, the latest one is of Si King.  

'Our Team has been desperately trying to get Meta, the owners of Facebook and Instagram to remove these fake profiles for the past 2 weeks without success.
