Julian Clary reveals beloved pooch Albert who he shares with husband Ian ... trends now

Julian Clary has revealed his beloved dog Albert, who he shares with husband Ian Mackley, has passed away. 

The 64-year-old comedian took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal the sad news, writing that Albert had lived to the age of 15.

The actor shared a sweet picture of his furry companion curled up in his dog bed and updated his 28,900 followers on the heartbreaking news. 

He captioned his post: 'RIP Albert 2009 - 2024'.

It is believed that Albert's health has been slowly declining for the last few years with old age.

Julian pushed his pooch in a travel buggy for years in the couple's local park after the dog's hind legs gave in, according to The Times.

He told the publication:'It's quite a camp buggy and pushing a dog about makes me feel almost heterosexual, in spite of me constantly joking about it.'

Much like his beloved friend, the late Paul O'Grady, Julian has always had a deep connection with his dogs and has previous attributed them for the calm in his life.

In his memoir, The Lick Of Love, he said dogs have always given him stability in life, explaining: 'Whatever else is going on, it is the water bowl in the kitchen, the dog hair on my jumper, the knowing gaze from the dog in the basket beside me that comforts me and tells me that all is well.'

It is reported that when Julian was in his 40s, he felt a pang when his friends would announce their pregnancies.

So he and Ian, 47, decided to start their own family but with a couple of friendly pups.

The love birds currently share 'naughty-but-nice' Gigi, who he says is 'an unpredictable fur bullet of a dog'.
