It was announced Paul had died 'unexpectedly but peacefully' from sudden cardiac arrhythmia at home with his partner Andre Portasio on March 28 2023.

His final TV project was Paul O'Grady's Great Elephant Adventure, which he was finalising his work on just days before he died.

The documentary was filmed across Thailand and Laos in December 2022, while Paul's voiceover work was completed in the weeks leading up to his death.

The two-part series, which will be shown over Easter on ITV, will follow Paul as he helps out at centres by caring for the endangered species.

The clip began with Paul and one of the staff at an elephant sanctuary looking at the animals playing in the water.

The guide says to Paul: 'Now they are going to go down to the river!' as they watch them splashing around and making trumpeting sounds.

Paul then quips: 'Listen to that! The babies they have that little squeak!', as the guide replies: 'It's a happy sound!'

Paul then adds as the animals head for a mud bath: 'Oh look they're going for the mud! They're like puppies aren't they! Big puppy!'

He then says in a voiceover as the elephants play in the dirt: 'Elephants cover themselves in mud to protect their skin from the sun. Look at that - not a care in the world! But I reckon they enjoy rolling in it to. There you lay down, there's a big girl!'

He then poignantly added: 'What I love is that they're safe! No circus for them! But God I bet their bed sheets
