Chase Stokes says season four of Outer Banks is his 'favorite' because of all ... trends now

Chase Stokes of Outer Banks fame teased the upcoming season of his hit show and revealed what it is like to navigate his career and personal life on Monday. 

The 31-year-old actor spent six weeks abroad shooting the Netflix show noting that that this is 'one of [his] favorite seasons yet,' because of it's twists and turns.

The thrilling finale of season three showed the cast ultimately finding the treasure at El Dorado after encountering setbacks, but the actor revealed they are going back to the basics this time around.

'The writers talked about how there was a real want for a lot of the authenticity and the characters in season 1. So I will say that they do a good job this season of that,' he shared.

He went on to add that loss and trauma takes a center stage during this season after the shocking deaths of pivotal characters like his.  

'Anytime you experience loss, it hits in spaces and in places that you don't anticipate,' he started, 'Being in the situation that John B and Sarah are in, it really will force them to evaluate everything.

'Where they are, what their purpose is, what their intentions are, and what was the actual value of it? Was it worth it, in hindsight? If they could go back and change things, would they? Or do they feel okay with it?'

Stokes added that the group of misfits will have to address self-doubt and in return soul search throughout the season. 

'It's been a huge, huge shift in lifestyle in a very, very short period of time if you look at the actual timeline of the show,' he added, 'And I think when you go
