Matthew Broderick has been spotted seemingly running a red light while on a bike ride in London in February.

The actor, 61, was seen speeding along a Lime e-bike for his daily ride, when he appeared to cycle straight past a warning sign.

The Ferris Bueller's Day Off star cut a casual figure in a black zip-up jumper teamed with dark jeans and trainers.

He ensured his own safety in a white helmet, while shielding his eyes behind a pair of dark sunglasses.

But Matthew apparently was less concerned with following the road safety rules, as he seemed to ignore a temporary traffic light at a busy junction.

Running a red light can attract a minimum fine of £50, with cyclists also being at risk of being sanctioned, despite not having to be registered or licenced.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Matthew Broderick for comment.

Matthew was famously previously charged with death by dangerous driving after a fatal car car collision in 1987.

He had been driving with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Grey, outside Tempo, Northern Ireland, while on holiday.

Matthew was behind the wheel of a BMW that they had rented when he crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with another car.

The driver, Anna Gallagher, 28, and her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, were both killed instantly.

He suffered a fractured leg and ribs, a concussion, and a collapsed lung, while Jennifer suffered severe whiplash, which later required surgery to avoid paralysis.

Matthew was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
