Brian Cox cosied up to his Long Day's Journey Into Night co-star Patricia Clarkson on Tuesday night.

The Succession actor, 77, - who has been married to wife Nicole for 22 years - and the actress, 64, looked to be getting on well at an after party at The Londoner Hotel following the show.

The pair are starring in a new revival of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night this spring 2024 in the West End.

In the production Brian plays the flawed father of the dysfunctional Irish-American Tyrone family while Patricia plays his opium-addicted wife.

The pair were seen in character kissing on stage during the production at the Wyndham's Theatre earlier in the night.

At the after party Patricia looked stunning in a black dress with feather sleeves which she teamed with pink heels.

Brian looked dapper in a grey suit as he wrapped his arm around her and beamed for snaps.

Set in August 1912 at the Tyrones' summer home in Connecticut, this powerful play by Eugene, which is semi-autobiographical, follows a single day in the lives of the family.

As the day begins to lead into the night, the Tyrones grapple with their own shortcomings, addictions, and struggles, blaming and resenting one another in the process.

Written by O'Neill between 1939 and 1941 and posthumously published in 1956, Long Day's Journey Into Night earned O'Neill the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1957 and the Tony Award for Best Play.

It comes after earlier this year Brian and his wife Nicole Ansari-Cox shared the story of their first meeting and how they didn't actually get together until eight years later.

The actor and his actress wife, 55, said there was 'fireworks' during their first meeting in 1990 when Brian was on a world tour of King Lear.

However despite 'clicking', it wasn't meant to be at the time, even though Brian did initially think she was 'coming back for him' following their evening together.

The Succession star told the Sunday Times Magazine: 'I was on tour in 1990 when I met Nicole at a party in Hamburg. We talked about work and all kinds of spiritual stuff well into the night. I was 44 and she was 23, but we sort of clicked.

'A few weeks later I was in a restaurant in Milan with the cast when
