Eva Mendes paid memorial to her late brother Carlos Mendez in an Instagram post on Tuesday on the anniversary of his birthday, nearly eight years after his passing.
The Miami-born beauty, 50, posted a gif of actress Teri Garr from the 1974 Mel Brooks horror comedy Young Frankenstein, as it reminded her of her late sibling, who died at 53 after a cancer battle on April 17, 2016.
'My mood today… captured by the coolest, Teri Garr,' said Mendes, who's been seen in the films such as Training Day, Lost River and Hitch. 'I post her because it’s my brother’s heavenly birthday today and he LOVED her.'
The Cuban-American actress continued: 'You can tell a lot by a person on who they crush on, looking back I didn’t appreciate it, he was my annoying older brother, but now I realize he was cooler than I thought. It was me who didn’t get it.'
