The sale of Rebel Wilson's hotly anticipated tell-all memoir Rebel Rising has been delayed indefinitely.

The Australian actress' book, which was due to go on sale on Wednesday, has been pulled from both online and physical book stores.

Buyers attempting to get the book on Amazon were notified that the title was 'currently unavailable' and that 'we don't know when or if this item will be back in stock'.

Multiple fans online have reported that sites such as Booktopia have canceled orders of the book, and local stores such as Big W and Dymocks have also refunded existing pre-orders.

The book's publisher, Harper Collins Australia, told Yahoo Lifestyle that, 'Publication of Rebel Rising has been delayed but we have no further comment.'

On Wednesday, Rebel posted on Instagram announcing the book was on sale in the US, however, many of her Australian fans took to the comments to complain about the delay Down Under.

'I pre-ordered a copy from Big W in [Australia] and recently received a refund and notification that they were no longer stocking the book. Devastated!' one comment read.

'This happened to me too! I can’t see it available anywhere in Aus now,' wrote another disappointed fan.

On Facebook, another Rebel fan reported that their local bookseller said the book was being recalled to be reprinted to 'have some parts redacted'.

Rebel has claimed her alleged experience with Sacha Baron Cohen led to an eating disorder in her bombshell new memoir.

She alleged that on the set of 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby, Sacha would ask her to strip off for scenes despite her 'no nudity' rule, in a string of claims which Sacha has strenuously denied and says are contradicted by evidence.

In a memoir passage obtained by People Magazine, she shockingly alleged that Sacha requested she 'stick her finger up his a**' because he thought it would make a funny scene in the film and claimed 'it felt like [he] had sexually harassed me'.

Rebel also claimed the alleged inappropriate experience with the Borat actor led to an eating disorder as she detailed the 'disrespect' she felt.

The Pitch Perfect star recalled how she felt 'completed disrespected, which led to me treating myself with even more disrespect by eating in an extremely unhealthy way'.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Sacha's representative for further comment.

Rebel played Sacha's on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 Louis Leterrier-directed film and has made a series of allegations about her uncomfortable experience during shooting.

Rebel claimed that during filming, Sacha would repeatedly 'mention that he wanted me to go naked in a future scene', which she alleged was in 'no way essential' to the film's plot.

In her book, which was released in the US on Tuesday, she wrote:
