The Good Doctor shocks fans with a surprising death of a series regular ... trends now
ABC's The Good Doctor is only five episodes into its final season but pulled off quite the shocker with a series regular character being killed off: Noah Galvin's Dr. Asher Wolke.
The network had already revealed this current seventh season would be The Good Doctor's last, and said the episode was a 'must-see' with a 'heart-stopping' moment.
Fans were quite stunned when the beloved character was killed in a rather shocking fashion on Tuesday night's episode.
The episode - which serves as the halfway mark for the truncated 10-episode season - found Galvin trying to reconnect with his Judaism.
Wolke helped a patient's wedding ceremony, and drove the rabbi back to his synagogue, though they found a hateful surprise when they got there.

They learned that a pair of thugs had vandalized the synagogue, with Wolke confronting them.
He told them to leave right now and there wouldn't be a problem, though one of the thugs asked, 'What do you care?'
The other said, 'He's a Jew too,' as Asher said, 'Yeah, I am a Jew. A gay one, in fact, and I’m calling the cops.'
That caused the vandals to disperse, but shortly thereafter, they returned and struck him with a fatal blow to the head.
By the time the rabbi returned, Wolke was already dead, with the episode ending with a title card to help those who may be experiencing antisemitic hate.
