Molly Ringwald revealed her daughter, Mathilda Gianopoulos, was conceived during her time starring as Sally Bowles in the Broadway production of Cabaret.
While reflecting on motherhood, the Pretty in Pink star, 56, told The Times that she believes her firstborn 'was conceived in the dressing room at Studio 54' back in 2003.
'It's so Mathilda to be conceived in such an iconic place,' she mused.
The Golden Globe nominee went on to explain that she 'always knew' she 'wanted to have children but it took' her 'awhile' to start a family with her now-husband Panio Gianopoulos, who she met online in the early 2000s.

'I was 36 when she was born. At that age the biological clock is a real thing and it had kind of become deafening,' Ringwald reflected. 'All I could think about was: must have kids.'
The mother-of-three, who also shares 14-year-old twins Adele and Roman, with her spouse, noted that 'the hardest thing about motherhood was realizing that' her 'time was not' her own.
'As an actress, I've traveled a lot and learnt to live with instability, but that's not great for kids,' she said. 'That's something I am always looking to improve on and luckily I have a husband who is a planner and is very stable.'
Mathilda is set to make her acting debut in Michael Showalter's film, The Idea of You, which which hits Prime Video on May 2, 2024.
Ringwald recently praised her eldest's role and decision to follow in her footsteps.
'It's a hard job and I think she knows what she's in for,' the star told People in October.
