Stuart Broad's pub receives mixed reviews with one punter claiming boozer is ... trends now

Stuart Broad has been slammed as punters at his pub are claiming that the boozer is 'worse than a Wetherspoons'.

The cricketer and fiancé of singer Mollie King owns The Tap and Run in Upper Broughton, Nottinghamshire, with fellow cricketer Harry Gurney - but it suffered a devastating fire in June 2022, re-opening a year later.

But now those visiting the reopened pub near Melton Mowbray have expressed their discontent with the prices as they offered mixed reviews on the establishment.

Dining at the pub would cost you £32.95 for a 8oz sirloin steak with dauphinoise potatoes and green beans.

Meanwhile a burger is priced at £16.50 and a chicken and ham pie would set you back £17.50.

Taking to Tripadviser, some were happy with their visit, while others offered criticism over the prices and claimed that the tables were too close together.

One customer named Lynn wrote on Tripadvisor: 'This is a really nice venue, sadly the meal was poor. The beef was tough, vegetables were cold and the sticky toffee pudding was cold.'

Lynn, who visited the pub earlier this month, gave it a two out of five rating, adding in her review on the site. 'There were 11 members in our party who all agreed this meal was poor and overpriced.

Another visitor Jennifer also gave two out of five as a score and penned: 'Very disappointed. The tables and chairs are now very packed in.

'We waited 25 minutes to be asked for our order so my husband had to find someone to take our order. The food is vastly overpriced.'

A third gave the pub a score of one out of five and claimed: 'The food was sub standard and would have expected better at a Wetherspoons. Never mind paying those prices. Service was good and that was the only positive thing.'

However some others were happy with their visit as one wrote: 'A really beautiful pub-pristine. Great service despite it being so busy. Good atmosphere and the food was amazing. I got a free bottle of Prosecco as we spent the required amount and it was for my birthday. I had previously joined the birthday club. Shame we didn't get to see Stuart!'

Another said: 'Excellent lunch. Fish curry starter has amazing taste. Chicken pie and Lamb main tasty. Sticky toffee using good. Could do with a pot of extra sauce on the side. Overall an excellent lunch.'
