Alison Hammond made a ballet class blunder as she fell over during a dance session live on Tuesday's This Morning.

The presenter, 49, joined Dermot O'Leary wearing a tutu as they took part in the activity with the Silver Swans - who organize dance lessons for seniors - on the ITV daytime show.

But Alison nearly fell flat on her face as she attempted a low demi plie as part of the class. 

She ended up on all fours as she fell in the hilarious moment as they teacher remained very serious amid the chaos.

Alison then struggled to stand again as she screamed: 'I can't get back up now though!'

The teacher then advised her to pretend there was an egg balancing on her head in a stern voice - to help with her posture and control.

The teacher then added: 'Okay let's just take it easy!' 

Dermot also channeled his inner prima ballerina as he took the This Morning ballet lesson very seriously and hit the barre for a twirl.

A few fans on Twitter reacted to the funny moment as one said: 'You just can't stop @AlisonHammond pirouetting', along with a crying laughing emoji.

Another said: 'I loved the swan ballet dancers class just now! Bless them!'

It comes after it was revealed that Alison is set to front a new BBC entertainment series which will see her spend 48 hours with some of the UK's best-loved celebrities.
