Tributes are flowing for Ricki-Lee Coulter after the pop star announced she had undergone major surgery after battling with endometriosis.

And many fans have expressed their shock at just how long it took for doctors to diagnose Ricki-Lee, 38, with the condition.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the Nova radio host revealed that for 'over a decade' she had been 'dealing with chronic pain that has progressively gotten worse' before doctors finally realised she had endometriosis.

Followers have since expressed their outrage, with one commenting: 'That's ridiculous that it took so long for a diagnosis,' as another added: 'So sorry that you've been dealing with chronic pain for so long and that you're only just getting a diagnosis and treatment now.'

'Can't believe the amount of pain we just have to live with and the length of time before any relief,' another wrote.

One user claimed they went undiagnosed with endometriosis for 20 years.

'As a fellow past sufferer of endometriosis, it pains me to hear that it still takes so long for this very painful condition to be diagnosed and treated,' they wrote.

'I went through the same process, doctor to specialist to doctor to specialist, with even being told that it was in my head.'
