Lily Allen reveals daughter's 'healthy attitude' to alcohol despite her own ... trends now

Lily Allen has revealed her daughters' 'healthy attitude' to alcohol following her own battles with drink and drugs. 

The singer, 37, who's now been sober for five years, said Ethel, 13 and Marnie, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper, had thankfully 'never experienced' her alcoholism. 

Speaking on Parenting Hell Podcast she also joked that her 2018 memoir My Thoughts Exactly would help the youngsters 'make sense' of her and understand why she was a 'psychopath'. 

Saying: 'They haven't really experienced my alcoholism, thankfully, but they know that [me and husband David Harbour] don't drink, they've got a really healthy attitude towards it,' 

'Sometimes I smoke and they both get very cross with me and I'm like "This is meant to be the other way round!"'.

Lily went on to discuss her honest memoir and said wasn't worried about her kids reading it was she believed 'honesty is the best policy'.   

Telling hosts Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett: 'I think they will what to get to the point in their lives where they will want to read that book and it will hopefully will make sense of their world and why [I'm] such a f*****g psychopath'.

Revealing that her reason for penning the book be able to tell them 'her version of events'.

The singer has always been candid about her drink and drug abuse and previously revealed that the last time she consumed alcohol was July 28, 2019.

Most recently explaining that her dedication to staying sober comes from knowing what she risks losing by drinking again.

Speaking on her podcast pal Miquita Oliver praised Lily for not being tempted to have a drink when out at the pub and asked what her secret was.

Lily replied: 'I don't know really, I'm just used to it now. It's been nearly five years of sobriety, coming up this summer. I don't know there's a secret.'

'In my early days of sobriety I did a lot of work, I went to a lot of meetings, I did my step work and I had a sponsor.
