Andrew Scott goes viral with VERY unlikely doppelgängers... as social media ... trends now

Andrew Scott has become the subject of a hilarious viral meme. 

The Sherlock star, 47, cropped up on Twitter when a user shared a snap with the caption: 'Someone said Andrew Scott looks like Ant and Dec and I can't unsee it'. 

An accompanying image showed Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - leading to uproar from tickled fans who concurred with the statement. 

Instagram users replied to the post writing:  'I can’t unsee this... I knew there was something I couldn’t put my finger on... Well this changes things... 

'I don’t know who this is but they are not wrong... Anton Dec... He is like an uncanny amalgamation of the two... The simulations broken.'

Andrew beamed on the red carpet in the initial image which was being likened to a backdated snap of the beloved TV duo. 

The tweet was shared by an account with the handle Tom Reagan's Hat, before a screenshot was posted on The Archbishop Of Banterbury. 

The social media spot comes after Andrew spoke out about his close friendship with his All Of Us Strangers co-star Paul Mescal, calling him ' a wonderful friend.'

The Irish actors worked together on their Oscar-nominated movie, and spent awards season together, delighting fans with their red carpet antics.

Andrew has now revealed how Paul, 27, played a pivotal role in helping him through a tough time after his beloved mother Nora died suddenly in March, right in the middle of the awards season spotlight. 

'I adore Paul, he's so, so … continues to be …' Andrew told The Sunday Times. 'Obviously it's been a tough time recently and he just continues to be a wonderful friend. It's everything.'
