George Knight and Cindy Beale finally share a tender kiss during Monday night's EastEnders after hinting at a possible affair for months. 

George (Colin Salmon) has grown closer and closer to Cindy (Michelle Collins) and following his adoptive mother Gloria's (Elizabeth Counsell) death last week he found comfort in his old friend. 

The pair were in deep conversation as George opened up to Cindy about the depth of his pain and grief while sat in the Boxing Den. 

They have been meeting up to chat for weeks hinting that a possible affair is on the cards but tonight George and Cindy took their relationship to the next level as they shared a kiss cheating on their significant others. 

George and Cindy share two daughters together Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) who they welcomed when they relocated to Spain before she disappeared for 25 years as she was put under witness protection.

George and the girls returned to Albert Square last year with his new partner Elaine Peacock and in a shock twist of events Cindy returned to Walford as well with partner Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) after she was freed from witness protection. 

In the latest episode, George realises he must inform his estranged son George Junior of the family news that Gloria is dead but he can only get as far as his voicemail. 

George and Cindy open up about their traumas to each other and prove their are still sparks between them but BBC viewers will have to see if they continue meeting up or if they will confess up to their partners Elaine and Ian.  

It comes after George was left sobbing at the hospital last Thursday after his adoptive mother died in his arms following a heart attack.

Gloria had been placed under significant strain in the run up to her death, after the bombshell emerged that her husband Eddie had murdered George's biological father - Henry Kofi Asare.
