TV veteran Nicky Buckley retuned to screens on Sunday to host a reboot of the much-loved lifestyle show Melbourne Weekender.

Nicky, 58, who is best known for Sale of the Century, is hosting the travel series alongside celebrity chef Gary Mehigan and Neighbours actress Bonnie Anderson.

The travel and holiday show has been off-air for four years after being cancelled back in 2019, but it has now returned to screens with a whole new hosting crew.

The first episode saw Bonnie, 29, visit an innovative bakery, while Gary, 57, sampled the culinary delights of Springvale, a hot spot for Vietnamese cuisine.

Seven New presenter Sonia Marinelli also featured in the season debut as she hosted an incredible trip to the NRMA Phillip Island Beachfront Holiday Park.

Fans rejoiced when the Channel Seven show premiered on Sunday night, taking to social media to praise the show after its debut episode aired.

They wrote: 'Brilliant I saw all of it .. so good Nic'; 'How good was this!!!'; 'Great to see the show coming back.'

While others admitted they couldn't wait to tune in, adding: 'Looking forward to the show';
