Blue Lights returned to screens this week for a second series, after 7million viewers tuned into the first installment of the gritty Belfast-based police drama last year.

And series two sees the return of Katherine Devlin in her role as hard-partying rookie police officer Annie Conlon.

The series centres around three probationary PSNI officers at the fictional Blackthorn Station as they deal with the communities of post-Troubles Belfast.

Katherine has revealed how much the nail-biting drama has changed her life, after landing the role of Annie, her first lead part on screen, off the back of a single audition tape.

Speaking at a recent screening of the opening episode of series two, Katherine revealed how the show has catapulted her to fame, even in far flung corners of the world.

Her Instagram account shows plenty of stunning shots of Katherine on her travels, trying the food and sightseeing with her friends in Vietnam and Bali after wrapping series two of Blue Lights.

'It's been amazing, even just in terms of how my life has changed,' she told the audience. 'Recently, two Dutch girls recognised me and came up to me in Bali, which was insane. But I'm just super grateful.'

Prior to Blue Lights Katherine had bit-parts in Amazon Prime series Vikings and Irish indie drama The Dig and was busy partying with her friends after studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

Before Cardiff, Katherine spent a year on a foundation course for acting in Dublin as well as working a nine to five after turning down five university offers for academic courses in pursuit of an acting career.
