Tekashi 6ix9ine appears to have gotten a surprise visit from Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents looking to collect on Wednesday.

Agents were dispatched to the embattled 27-year-old rapper's home in Lake Worth, Florida, and the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office told TMZ that officers assisted the agents during the operation.

Law enforcement didn't comment further on details of the operation, but photos and video obtained by the publication suggested that IRS agents were removing several items from the home.

Multiple cars belonging to the rapper (real name: Daniel Hernandez) were also removed from the property, eyewitnesses said, though he was not there following a domestic violence arrest in the Dominican Republic in January.

DailyMail. com has reached out to a representative for Hernandez for comment.

When reached by TMZ, Tekashi's lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, said, 'We are assessing the situation and will issue a statement at the appropriate time.'

Video obtained by the publication shows multiple people congregated on the driveway in front of a blue Lamborghini with a custom paint job designed to make it look as if it had been splattered by multicolored paintballs.

Several of the people were seen wearing vests, indicating that they were part of the operation, though it's unclear if any of the remaining figures were connected to Tekashi or the house.

Later, the same car was seen in closeup while rigged up on the back of a tow truck.

Another photo indicated that a different sports car, with a similar paintball theme but a green base shade, had also been taken by the IRS.

One image showed a paper 'Warning' label appended to a windshield that said the car had been part of a 'United States Government Seizure,' and Hernandez's name was written on the paper in black ink

It's unclear if anyone connected to the rapper met with the IRS or Sheriff's agents, as he is reportedly out of the country.

Sources with direct knowledge told the publication that Hernandez is currently in the Dominican Republic, where he has been spending significant time in recent months.

The presence of the IRS suggests that Tekashi's issues may be tax related, but the exact nature of the operation has not yet been revealed.

The IRS visit is just the latest in a long string of legal issues for the troubled rapper.

In January, while spending time in the Dominican Republic, Hernandez was arrested on domestic violence charges.

He was put into custody after Wanda Díaz, the mother of his
