Olly Alexander is on the promotional trail as he prepares to fly the UK flag at next month's Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden

With the singer, 33, spotted cutting a quirky figure as he left the Radio 1 Studios in London on Friday.

Olly, who is representing the United Kingdom with his catchy single Dizzy,  showcased his toned legs in black shorts which he wore with leather braces and long socks. 

He completed the look with oversized denim jacket and trendy olive green Doctor Marten Oxford Shoes.

Olly, who also sported a dramatic silver ear piercing, appeared in great sprits and flashed a huge smile as he left the building.

Last month Olly issued a statement responding to fans' furious calls that he should boycott the contest over Israel's inclusion.

It came after a group of 450 queer artists, individuals, and organisations, including actor Maxine Peake, signed an open letter asking him to withdraw from the contest over Israel's war with Gaza.

Olly responded in a lengthy statement, vowing that he will remain in the competition, and would instead focus on collaborating with other Eurovision contestants on how to 'use our platform to come together and call for peace.'

The statement, posted on Olly's Instagram, read: 'I wholeheartedly support action being taken to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the return of all hostages and the safety and security of all civilians in Palestine and Israel.

'I know some people will choose to boycott this year's Eurovision and I understand and respect their decision. 

'As a participant I've taken a lot of time to deliberate over what to do and the options available to me. It is my current belief that removing myself from
