Sydney Sweeney took a cue from her recent film Anyone But You by belting out Natasha Bedingfield's 2004 hit while karaoking this week.

The actress shared a snippet on Instagram of herself and a gal pal performing a duet of the song, which served as the third single off the British singer's debut studio album of the same name.

'I am unwritten / Can't read my mind / I'm undefined / I'm just beginning / The pen's in my hand / Ending unplanned,' the ladies can be heard singing on a dance floor as the lyrics flash across a video screen just feet from where the DJ was positioned.

While the connection between the song and its recent feature in Sweeney's rom-com is clear, fans were left baffled after realizing Sydney was dressed up in a pirate costume.

'what's a pirates favorite letter?' the actress, 26, wrote in the caption of the post earlier on Friday.

For her karaoke performance Sweeney is decked out in a black and white skirt with a black bustier and black knee-high boots.

She accessorizes in pirate gear that includes a long sword that's attached to her waistline, sexy fishnet stockings, and long sheer fabric hanging down her right side that nearly hits the ground.

Of course a proper pirate's look wouldn't be complete without a swashbuckling hat popular with pirates of the old sea on top of her blonde locks that looks to be about shoulder length.

Her friend isn't quite dressed as a pirate in an all-black ensemble consisting of flared pants and a matching blouse and motorcycle boots.

Loosely based on Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Anyone But You also starred Glen Powell, Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet and Rachel Griffiths

The rom-com premiered in December 2023, and despite mixed reviews it went on to be a hit with fans at the worldwide box office, grossing $219 million, while working with a $25 million budget.

Bedingfield, now 42, saw her song get a revival after it played in several
