Claudia Winkleman gave Romesh Ranganathan her blessing as he took over her BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday.

Comedian Romesh, 46, took on the Saturday morning slot from Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors presenter Claudia, who left the station last month.

Former host Claudia, 52, who spent 15 years on air for BBC Radio 2, struggled to fight back tears as she wrapped up her final show at the end of March.

Opening his very first show this weekend, Romesh admitted that he felt 'very' nervous.

But Claudia was impressed with his efforts, taking to social media to offer her blessing, writing on Instagram: 'He’s BRILLIANT.'
