Kate Garraway and Ed Balls have reminisced on their highlights from presenting on Good Morning Britain, as the ITV show marks its 10 year anniversary.

The breakfast show debuted in 2014 and will reach the milestone on Sunday, with a special celebratory episode on Monday morning.

The series' presenters reflected on their most memorable moments, with Kate - who has appeared on the show from the start - recalling interviewing Renée Zellweger.

The broadcaster, 56, explained how the Oscar-winning actress, 54, had once worked behind the scenes on the GMB to carry out research for the next Bridget Jones film.

She even pinched some of the crew to play themselves in the actual film, and in return, invited Kate to join her on set in Bridget's actual bedroom in 2016.

Kate said that her own life was like that of the iconic character from the three films and Helen Fielding's 1996 novel.

Speaking about her favourite GMB moment, she gushed: 'There’s so many incredible memories to choose from!

'We are lucky enough to interview so many stars over the years that you begin to feel part of their journey as they grow up and develop.

'The young gang of the Harry Potter films were barely teenagers when I first met them so it’s great to catch up with them on their latest projects.'

She then added: 'Renée Zellweger always makes me giggle. On the third Bridget Jones movie The Edge of Reason - she came into the gallery to watch how our show is put together and even used some of our studio crew in the filming.

'Then I went onto the set of Bridget’s bedroom and she said “welcome to your home “ - so much of my life seems to have echoed the character Bridget Jones’ adventures!

'But of course it’s actually often the people who aren’t famous who move us most - those with the powerful stories of their own lives that really move you and those who inspire and make you giggle.'

Meanwhile, Ed, 57, - who joined the programme in 2022 - confessed his most memorable moments were also his most embarrassing.
