Daniel Bedingfield opened up about his sexuality for the first time as he spoke about a 'man he loved' during a performance at the London Palladium on Tuesday night.

The Gotta Get Thru This singer has been taking a self-imposed hiatus for the past two decades but has returned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first hit song.

Addressing the crowds, the singer, 44, said: 'In my era, you had to be gay or straight, or f*** you. I wrote this song with a man I loved about a girl we both loved.'

The song was called Borderline and afterwards, Daniel spoke about this woman and said how much he and this unknown man missed her when she went away,

He said: 'I'm not very gay, but we were on a hot spring, sitting on a rock, missing her.'
