Coronation Street actor Philip Middlemiss looked worlds away from his soap character during an appearance on Loose Women on Monday.

The actor, 60, was known to Corrie fans for his role as love rat Des Barnes which he played from 1990 until 1998.

Phillip appeared on ITV daytime show Loose Women today sporting short white hair, which was much lighter than the brown locks he sported on the cobbles.

He appeared in good spirits as he wore a smart black jacket over a white top this week.

Philip left Coronation Street after his character suffered a heart attack and died in wife Natalie's (Denise Welch) arms.
