Comedian Wil Anderson reveals the reason his friends warned him off watching ... trends now

Wil Anderson has revealed the reason why he was warned off watching smash hit stalker series Baby Reindeer.

The Netflix show is based on writer and leading star Richard Gadd's own experience of being stalked as he plays a fictionalised version of himself, comedian Donny Dunn.

The series follows his harrowing ordeal as he is bombarded with thousands of emails from stalker Martha Scott, played by Jessica Gunning, and the show has been widely praised.

Despite its acclaim, Aussie comedian Wil, 50, said he has been warned not to watch the show because of his own past experience receiving daily letters from one fan.

'I have been warned not to watch [Baby Reindeer] actually. Like a lot of comedians, and without wanting to go into it, it's a very personal medium,' he shared on Nova's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie.

Wil went on to explain how he used to have a fan who would write him long letters every single day when he hosted the Triple J radio show from 2000 to 2004.

He recalled that he would receive 'six pages' of dialogue from the female fan daily as if they had a 'personal relationship' as he detailed the ordeal.

'I imagine there's a lot of people who work in these industries who have been touched with some story of that,' he went on.

'When I was at Triple J - I think this is probably safe enough now to tell, it was so long ago - I had a woman write to me every
