The Voice: Shay Mooney jokes that he'll quit show if Maddi Jane doesn't advance ... trends now

Shay Mooney was so blown away by Maddi Jane's performance on Monday's episode of The Voice that he joked he was going to leave the show if she didn't advance.

The 32-year-old singer was impressed by Maddi after her stellar rendition of Rihanna's song Stay as the Playoffs round continued on season 25 of the NBC show.

'If you don't go through to the Lives, I'm quitting The Voice,' Shay said.

Maddi, 25, from Chicago, wearing a blue strapless dress, threw her all into singing Rihanna's hit song to close out the two-hour show. The coaches gave her a standing ovation and the crowd cheered.

'You are priceless,' Reba McEntire, 69, gushed.

'It was a master class,' John Legend, 45, told her.

'I like how you carry yourself in every performance with very cool confidence that you have,' Chance the Rapper, 31, said.

The episode featured Grammy Award-winning singer Anthony Ramos, 32, joining the show as Reba's Playoffs Advisor and Meghan Trainor, 30, also came on to advise Team Chance.

Josh Sanders, 35, from Kannapolis, North Carolina, for Team Reba, was the first contestant to take the stage and performed Black Water by The Doobie Brothers while playing the guitar. He said he remembered singing this song with his father who died in 2013. Anthony helped him in rehearsals by encouraging him to try more to connect with the audience.

'Josh you killed it,' John said. 'I loved how soulful this performance was for you. I like the little runs you were doing. Took us to church a little bit.'

'You gave a show-stopping performance, so congrats, man,' Chance said.

'You've got such great stage presence, control with the band,' Dan Smyers, 36, said. 'You got the crowd on your feet clapping. Man, you're a star.'

Team Chance's Nadège, 26, from Laguna Niguel, California, wearing a strapless silver top, sang a moving rendition of Coldplay's hit song Clocks. Meghan sat in on her rehearsals and told her that she was 'clearly born to do this.'

'That was phenomenal,' Shay said after her performance.

'I think this was one of the best performances I've seen on this show,' Chance said.

Twins Justin and Jeremy Garcia, 17, from Millbrae, California, on Team Reba picked Ed Sheeran's hit Castle On The Hill to perform. Anthony told Reba in rehearsals that he actually auditioned to be on The Voice, waiting in the cold for hours, and sang Green Light by John Legend, but didn't make the cut.

'And the producer goes, I want you to work on your breathing for a year and then come back,' Anthony said. 'My dreams were just crushed.'

Anthony said from a failed audition for the show to being a mentor 'it's been a journey up to this point, so I hope that I have something I can say that's helpful.'

Anthony encouraged the twins to have fun with each other and got emotional seeing their brotherly connection.

'Ed is a good buddy of ours. He is going to be stoked to hear this,' Shay said. 'I mean, the world needs more Justin and Jeremy.'

'I love you guys singing separately so when you come together and sing harmony, it just makes it so much richer and that you are brothers,' Reba said. 'It tore me up when you looked at each other and said ''My brother''.'

During rehearsal, Meghan told Chance that her husband Daryl Sabara loved him.
