The highly acclaimed nu metal band Slipknot will be celebrating the anniversary of their first album on the road.

The band announced on their social media pages today that their North American tour dates for their Here Comes the Pain 25th anniversary tour would begin on August 6.

'Every time I’ve walked onstage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up,' founding member Shawn 'Clown' Crahan told Pitchfork.

'But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones.'

The band is looking to make their tour 'more personal on the anniversary,' and Crahan is warning fans to prepare to have their faces kicked in.

Two other bands that will be joining Slipknot on their 25th anniversary tour are Orbitculture and Vended.

Slipknot will close out their tour by headlining this year's Knotfest Iowa music festival in their hometown on September 21.
