Carey Mulligan has sweetly recalled being pen pals with her husband Marcus Mumford when they were children.
The Saltburn actress, 38, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday where she spoke about her charity work with War Child - but also touched on the beginnings of her relationship with the Mumford & Sons singer, 37.
She told hosts Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway about first meeting Marcus at a summer camp when they were kids and subsequently becoming pen pals to stay in touch after leaving.
They then had a 10-year break with no contact before reconnecting when Carey was 24, and then marrying in 2012. They now share three children Evelyn, eight, and Wilfred, five, and a third child whose name hasn't been revealed but was born in September 2023.
Speaking on GMB she said: 'We ended up going to the same summer camp when we were kids so we became pen pals after and that's how we kept in touch, we didn't have phones!

'We used to fax a bit when fax machines were cool! We need to get kids back doing the pen pal thing again. It's a good thing.
'Then there was about 10 years when we lost touch and then we reconnected.'
Presenter Richard then quipped: 'It was written in the stars!'
The show then flashed up a video of Marcus carrying her down a hallway on their wedding day as she gushed: 'Oh look at us. That was because my shoes were so unbelievably painful I couldn't walk.
'So I just said I'm done you will have to carry me. And then he put me down and was huffing and puffing.
Carey and Marcus became engaged in 2011 after only dating for five months, and tied the knot in an English countryside wedding in Somerset one year later in April 2012.
Last year Carey admitted that she didn't think her husband Marcus was 'boyfriend material' when they first met as children.
The star revealed exactly what she thought of the singer when they met for the first time at the camp when she was just 12 years old and he was aged 10.
