Blue Peter fans were left gobsmacked when they discovered former host Sarah Greene's real age following her youthful appearance on Friday's The One Show.

The 66-year-old stunned in a leggy mini dress as viewers rushed to social media to claim the beauty hadn't aged a day, over four decades since she left the iconic BBC children's show.

Sarah, who hosted Blue Peter between 1980 and 1983, flaunted her age-defying figure as she slipped into the colourful look. 

Racing to X, formerly Twitter, fans gushed: 'Does Sarah Greene actually age?':  'Sarah Greene is on telly & still looks amazing at 66. You're welcome': 'Sarah Greene looks fabulous on The One Show'.

Sarah, who hosted Blue Peter between 1980 and 1983, flaunted her age-defying figure as she slipped into the colourful look

Sarah, who now hosts with BBC quiz show The Finish Line, made her return to TV last year almost a decade after death of her husband and BBC's Breakfast Time host Mike Smith aged 59 from complications after heart surgery in 2014.

Despite her flourishing presenting career, Sarah stepped back following her beloved partner's passing and put her focus on running his aerial filming firm instead. 

And now she's back on screens, Sarah told how she has no plans to retire, adding her late husband would be 'proud' of her TV return. 

Speaking to The Mirror about how she coped amid Mike's death, she said last year: 'Nine years ago my husband died and I had a very big task on my hands, because I made the decision to take on
