Nicholas Alexander Chavez confirmed that he is exiting General Hospital in a statement shared to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
The 24-year-old actor, who has portrayed Spencer Cassadine since 2021, expressed how grateful he is to have worked on the long-running daytime soap opera for the last three years.
Chavez - who is currently shooting a true-crime series - also said that he was incredibly humbled by the warm reception he's received from General Hospital fans.
He began his farewell message by paying tribute to those working behind and in front of the camera on the hit show.
'I'm so appreciative of the opportunity that GH gave me, and I wouldn't be as busy as I am professionally if it weren't for the talented producers, writers, directors and fellow actors,' Chavez wrote.

The performer went on to write that he was especially indebted to General Hospital's executive producer, Frank Valentini, whom he described as 'a mentor and a friend.'
