The official trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the dark comedy-superhero series The Boys was released on Friday.

In the clip, Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban, and his teammates reunited in order to put an end to the political rise of Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr.

The program - which became the basis for a spinoff series - also stars Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty and Laz Alonso, who portray Hugh 'Hughie' Campbell, Erin Moriarty/Starlight and Mother's Milk, respectively.

The trailer begins with Butcher encountering his old teammates and, while recalling his stepson Ryan's betrayal to be with Homelander, he states: 'I look back at my life and all I see are the messes I made. And I ain't got time to fix it.'

Butcher then tells his teammates that he needs them in order to put an end to Homelander's reign of terror, before the wayward superhero appears at a political rally and encourages the use of 'terrible' methods for 'the greater good.'
