Chris Hemsworth cut a laidback figure as he jetted out of Sydney Airport with his wife Elsa Pataky on Saturday for the 2024 Met Gala.

The Aussie actor, 40, is set to co-chair the annual fashion extravaganza on Monday, May 6, alongside Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Anna Wintour.

The 2024 Met Gala has the theme Sleeping Beauties and will once again see the Hollywood and fashion elite descend on New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Chris was seen jetting out of Australia to head stateside for the event, after he attended the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premiere in Sydney earlier in the week.

Arriving at the airport, Chris kept it casual in a white T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, which he styled with grey trainers and a hooded jacket.

He completed his look with a grey baseball cap, while he shielded his eyes with aviator shades and kept his essentials in a black backpack.

His wife Elsa, 47, looked stylish in beige straight leg trousers and a matching cardigan, which she wore over a black T-shirt.

She kept comfortable in a pair of lace-up black boots and toted her essentials in a small Louis Vuitton black handbag. 

Elsa - who shares a daughter India, 11, and twin boys Sasha and Tristan, nine, with Chris - also slung a backpack over one shoulder for their travels.
