The Block 2024 has been hit by more drama as a popular cast member steps away from the series. 

Foreman Keith, real Keith Schleiger, has revealed he will be making 'irregular appearances' on the new season for family reasons, the Herald Sun reports. 

'With The Block shooting on Phillip Island this year Keith had to step back from his full time duties because of his commitment to raising his two daughters,' a Nine spokesperson told the publication. 

'He couldn't come to the island for three months straight. It was literally a bridge too far' the spokesperson continued. 

'But Block fans will be pleased to hear that he has been involved with filming for our 20th season as a special guest.' 

It comes after reports that the program has lost two Blockheads early in the season. 

While the new series of the Channel Nine show yet to air, photos from a promotional shoot have all but confirmed Team Blue, Jesse and Paige, have already left.

A source has told Yahoo Lifestyle that producers were left blindsided by the exit.

'The production crew had noted there had been more tears with Jesse and Paige... but the 'welfare team' felt that their behaviour was pretty standard with every season up until this point,' they revealed.
