Richard Hammond has revealed why he has not reached out to Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff after his near-fatal crash whilst filming Top Gear.

The two presenters suffered similar crashes whilst filming the beloved BBC car programme, both being told they were 'lucky to be alive'.

Freddie, 46, crashed in December 2022 in a open-topped three-wheel 130mph Morgan Super 3 car, which had no air bags and left him with severe facial injuries and several broken ribs.

Back in 2006, The Grand Tour presenter Richard, now 54-years-old, crashed a Vampire dragster which is a jet powered car capable of reaching 370mph.

When asked whether Richard had reached out to Freddie, he said: 'I'd very much like to, but he's on his own business of recovery'.
