Ed Sheeran packs on the PDA with giggling wife Cherry Seaborn before getting a ... trends now

Cheeky Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn looked more loved-up than ever as they kissed at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday evening. 

The singer couldn't contain his smile as he cosied up to his glamorous wife after posing on the famous red carpet but he was clearly feeling quite adventorous with his smooches. 

Inside the A-lister extravaganza hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Ed also got up close and personal with longtime pal Chris Hemsworth who planted a kiss on his head.

The Bad Habits singer was also seen sharing the love with Cara Delevingne and Stella McCartney during the evening as he and the model posed for photos kissing the designer's cheeks. 

Ed made his debut at the event by walking the famous Met steps with Cara, and FKA Twigs.

Ed commanded attention by rocking a pale blue suit by Stella McCartney while his stunning wife looked incredible in an off the shoulder white lace gown. 

However, some fans quickly took to social media to poke fun of Ed's look as they joked he had to choose between basketball and singing, as his light blue tuxedo was similar to High School Musical's Troy Bolton.

The tweet has racked up more than 5,000 likes, with other social media users agreeing that the tux reminded them of eighties and nineties prom attire.

Others compared the jazzy blue outfit to that of the iconic frilly piece that Harry Dunne wears in Dumb and Dumber.

Ed seemed to enjoy his first ever Met as he was pictured holding a hip flask while posing for photos with singer Raye and rapper Lil Nas X.
