Tom Holland was spotted on a low-key outing just hours after his first performance in West End's Romeo & Juliet was cancelled.

The actor, 27, who debuted a new clean haircut, looked downcast as he was seen for the first time since the last minute cancellation.

After 60,000 fans scrambled to buy tickets in February, ticket holders were told just a day before the performance that the show 'cannot go ahead as planned'.

The West End show was scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 11 at the Duke Of York's Theatre in London.

According to Deadline, the reason it was pulled was 'due to the technical aspects of the production needing further preparation.

Tom was seen arriving at the theatre for last minute rehearsals on Friday morning and was later covering his face on departure.

Fans will be sent a link to exchange their tickets for a later date, with producers noting there is 'limited availability'.

It is currently unknown if performances on Monday (May 13) and Tuesday (May 14) will go ahead as planned.

The delay will give Tom time to recover
