Sofia Richie is 'about to have a nervous breakdown' before giving birth, according to her father, Lionel Richie.
The 74-year-old singer - who was recently joined by his much-younger girlfriend during a gala event - revealed that as the 26-year-old's due date grows closer, she was becoming increasingly anxious about becoming a mother.
The hitmaker told Extra that his life was 'so full right now. My baby is now having a baby, what the heck is going on? Elliot and Sofia are about to have a nervous breakdown.'
Richie went on to state that he had advised his daughter to 'calm down' and enjoy the final months of her pregnancy.
'I say "When the baby comes, then you can have a nervous breakdown!" It's just a great time!'

The American Idol judge, who is already a grandfather to Harlow, 16, and Sparrow, 14, through his adoptive daughter Nicole Richie, remarked that he was excited to experience the feeling of becoming a grandparent all over again.
He stated: 'We're all loving it. I'm over the moon and trying to stay calm. I'm just so excited. For them, I know this is going to be the adventure of a lifetime!'
The Hello singer, who shares Sofia and his son Miles, 29, with his ex-wife Diane Alexander, also admitted that it was surreal to learn about his daughter's pregnancy.
