Yummy Mummies' Maria DiGeronimo defends luxe wardrobe

The Yummy Mummy caused controversy last month when she revealed a lavish wardrobe hosting designer clothes up to age 14 for her unborn daughter.

But TV star Maria DiGeronimo has since taken to Instagram to 'clear up' and defend the luxe collection, which included Burberry, Chanel and Ralph Lauren.

The raven-haired told her 25.7k followers: 'I noticed that the designer clothes washed well and kept their value.'

On Channel Seven's series, the Adelaide housewife showed off a walk-in wardrobe stuffed full with designer clothes, confessing she has bought items sized up to age 14 for her unborn child.

The flamboyant mum boasts of her purchases to the other Yummy Mummies stars Lorinska Merrington, Jane Scandizzo and Rachel Watts during a tour of her mansion.

'This is my favourite room,' Maria says as she escorts the other pregnant women into a walk-in wardrobe.

A quick scan shows the room was stuffed with Nike and Ralph Lauren shoes, Burberry clothes and even a Chanel handbag.

In an Instagram post last week, Maria claimed she had 'bought and was gifted up to 3 years' for her daughter before she was born.

She's also kept her step daughter's clothes from sizes 6-11, as she added: 'Recognising that children barely get to wear their clothes as they grow so quickly or sometimes wear them once I didn't want to throw any of her good clothes away.'

The petite mother continued: 'I fit and buy size 12/14 years in designer clothes for myself (which I'll possibly keep).'

'I bought most of the clothes before baby was born because I would get the best discounted sales on the designer items as they were out of a season for that current season but proved perfect bubs when she was to be born,' Maria said.
