All Star Mr and Mrs won't return this season

It's been running for almost ten years, after starting in the 1960s. 

But an ITV spokesperson has confirmed that All Star Mr and Mrs won't be returning this year, and reports have followed claiming it may not return at all.

A source told The Sun: 'All Star Mr & Mrs has aired every year for almost a decade. So the fact that it is now taking a break doesn't look good for the future.

'Officially this is 'a rest' and the bosses are adamant that the axe has not fallen.

'But there are plenty of people who are convinced it won't be back.'

An ITV spokeswoman told the paper: 'There is no series of All Star Mr & Mrs scheduled for the autumn. But it remains in the mix for next year.'

The original Mr & Mrs series ran from 1968 to 1988 with two separate revivals in 1995–1996 and 1999 and was presented by the late Derek Batey. 

It was then revived by Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton in 2008, with the addition of celebrities. 

The show features celebrities and their real-life partners playing to win up to £30,000 for their chosen charity. 

Meanwhile last week it was confirmed that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be returning for the show when it gets the reboot treatment next year.
