Since Sophie Monk chose Stu Laundy on the finale episode of The Bachelorette, the legitimacy of the couple's romance has come into question.
Radio hosts Em Rusciano and Kate Langbroek as well as The Project's Meshel Laurie have declared that the reality TV union is 'fake'.
However in Thursday's OK! magazine, the father-of-four is more concerned about the wellbeing of his children, stating: 'People's opinions can hurt kids.'

Stu told the publication: 'The only concern I have had thus far throughout the entire process is the wellbeing of my children and the negative impact on them.
'People's opinions can hurt kids, which I don't think they realise,' the 44-year-old pub baron continued.
Stu's comments come shortly after he hit back at media personalities Kate and Meshel, for declaring his romance with Sophie, 37, to be fake.
He told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson on Tuesday's Kyle and Jackie O radio show: 'They had their knives out for me!'

After Stu and Sophie were grilled on Friday's The Project, the millionaire said 'vengeful' Meshel, 41, was rude to him from the get-go.
'A lady I'd never met just started shooting me, it was pretty rude actually,' he explained.
Meshel, a regular on the Channel Ten news program, accused Sophie of having done 'the classic woman thing.'

The comedian said on-air to the Click actress: 'I think you've done the classic woman thing where you say that you want one thing but what you actually go for is something else.
You said in the beginning, "I just want a down-to-earth, normal guy who wants to get married and have kids," what you've chosen is a millionaire, who's already married and had a vasectomy.'
Meanwhile, KIIS FM's Kate Langbroek was also vocal prior to her on-air
