And Adam Thomas sent viewers at home into meltdown with his hilarious cackle during an interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Tuesday's installment of This Morning.

The Emmerdale actor even brought tears to Holly's eyes during the fun-filled segment as he inexplicably bellowed with laughter about the ITV soap's murder storyline.

Adam's interview started off on a high note as he threatened to spill the beans about Emma's killer's identity.

The joker, who is leaving the ITV soap after eight years, declared: 'I can tell you who killed her! I can, because I am leaving!'

Phil chimed in: 'I think he will, I don't even have to push him very hard at all!'

Adam, who stars as Adam Barton on the show, began laughing hysterically after watching an eerie montage of himself on Emmerdale.

Discussing his alter-ego's plight on the show, Adam declared: 'He's an innocent man, everyone's pointing the finger at him.

'The more he protests his innocence, the more people think he's done it, even his wife thinks so - what kind of wife is she?'

'He's been sent down before, he's scared to death. All the evidence does point in his direction...'
