Luke Bryan slammed for gifting his wife baby kangaroos

Country music singer Luke Bryan has sparked a social media backlash after gifting his wife two baby kangaroos for Christmas.

The 41-year-old crooner has been slammed on Instagram for his controversial gift, which has been labelled 'cruel' and unfair to the young marsupials.

'Young kangaroos are highly anxious animals and often don't last long in the hands of people who aren't trained animal carers,'  one concerned commenter wrote on Luke's Instagram account.

On Wednesday, Luke shared a photo of the two kangaroos he had gifted wife Caroline Boyer relaxing by the fireplace.

While several fans posted gushing comments cooing over the cute new additions, others took issue with keeping the kangaroos inside and their diapers.

'The last place they should be is someone's living room in diapers ... this is just cruel,' one person wrote.

Others were concerned about the young age of the kangaroos, questioning why they weren't still with their mother.

'As an Aussie I've got no problem with this IF they are rescued animals & being cared for properly BUT in Australia when caring for an orphaned kangaroo we DONT put diapers on them,' one person wrote.
