MAFS producers defend Dean being cast on the show

He's one of the most controversial contestants on Married At First Sight this season. 

And this week, producers of the 'social experiment' defended Dean Wells being cast on the show.

It comes after Dean and love interest Davina Rankin enraged fans after 'cheating' on their spouses and enjoying steamy secret rendezvous together.

'Why are you giving him airtime; why was he cast? Was he cast to be the villain and give you drama or was it for love?,' Nine Honey reports Shelley Horton asked producers on Talking Married this week.

Executive producer Tara McWilliams said she found Dean's views on relationships 'interesting' and 'controversial'.

'They're controversial views. And if everyone had the same kind of view on relationships, it'd be a really boring experiment and a really boring show,' McWilliams said.
