The Logies 2018: Dave Hughes takes a swipe at Barnaby Joyce

He's known for pulling no punches when it comes to his ruthless opening monologue at the Logie Awards.

And Dave Hughes didn't disappoint this year, as he took aim at Karl Stefanovic over the now-infamous 'Ubergate' scandal - joking that the Today show host could have avoided the controversy if he'd just 'left a tip' for the driver.

The comedian also took a swipe at Barnaby Joyce and Vicki Campion, joking that Channel Seven couldn't 'afford' to send their top talent to the ceremony because they'd spent their budget on the politician's $150,00 tell-all interview.

Controversy erupted in March when details of Karl's 'b****y' Uber chat with his younger brother Peter were leaked by the driver.

The brothers dicussed their Channel Nine colleagues, with Karl reportedly claiming his Today show co-host Georgie Gardner sat 'on the fence' too much.
