Packages of Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies have been recalled after customers found lumps of 'an unexpected solidified ingredient' that looked like plastic.
One enraged father tweeted that his son ate as many as 20 cookies before discovering they all had the same object.
Mondelēz Global LLC, Nabisco's parent company, issued a notice on Friday, stating it was carrying out a limited and voluntary recall in the US.
A company spokesperson told CBS News that cornstarch used when baking the cookies did not properly mix and, in turn, solidified.
'A small number of consumers have reported gagging, choking or dental injury, but none of these reports have been confirmed at this time,' the spokesperson stated.
